The school’s proven teaching concept from southern Sweden is now also available in the north! Katharina lives in Stockholm outside the summer months, but is often in her home region. She is cosmopolitan, very well traveled, experienced, competent, committed, social and of course knows the localities.
Tornedalen
The course takes place in the small town of Kangosfors in Tornedalen, about 140 km southeast of Kiruna. Teaching takes place on the farm of teacher Katharina’s friend!
The Tornedalen region offers something for everyone: hiking, fishing, canoeing, experiencing reindeer, moose and bears in nature, cycling, midnight sun, swimming, culinary from the north …

Abisko
Abisko is located north of the Arctic Circle, and the course offers you the opportunity to get to know this beautiful region during the Swedish summer:
– experience endless days in the midnight sun
– enjoy the exuberant nature around, for example in Abisko National Park
– learn and use the Swedish language and culture with locals in the north.
For advanced beginners (level A1.2) there are 3 lessons (60 minutes each) of Swedish training every day. From level A2, there will be another 3 lessons in the afternoon and evening, but this time practical Swedish training, led by teacher Katharina. Here you will practice and apply what you have learned. Various activities accompany the afternoon lessons: sightseeing, activities, hikes, nature experiences, meditation if desired.
Different teaching materials are used, which the teacher brings along. There are copying costs of approx. 10 € for this.

- Single/double room in a guest house in the courtyard where classes are held (photos right). Simple but good; previous participants have always been satisfied. The bookable food is highly praised.

Meals: You have the possibility to book breakfast and lunch on the spot. These are prepared by the housekeeper and consist of a simple breakfast and a lunch of regional food/delicacies or typical home cooking of the region (moose/raven, local vegetables, berries). The cost is 60 SEK/breakfast and 125 SEK/lunch (about 5 € and 10 € respectively). Feel free to indicate if you are interested in this when booking!
In Abisko we recommend STF Abisko Turiststation.
We recommend that you travel to Kiruna or Gällivare by train or flight. Transfer from Kiruna or Gällivare train station/airport can be arranged and costs about 350 SEK each way.
